The Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) includes among its members tens of thousands of physicians and medical students based in New York. As a nonprofit organization, it receives its funding through member dues and uses its resources to advocate for medical care providers and to advance rigorous professional standards. The organization is divided into 10 divisions, with each responsible for a particular area of concern. For instance, one division is responsible for communications, and another is responsible for government affairs. MSSNY includes among its many services the “Hassel Factor Form,” which allows people to report concerns pertaining to insurance companies. Additionally, MSSNY supports a network of continuing education resources for use by medical professionals. These resources contribute to the general quality of New York’s healthcare establishment by helping to ensure providers keep up to date with the latest scientific breakthroughs.
